There was a wondrfull project I have been working hard for the last month. Famous opera singer Emma Shapplin held free concert at Viminacium ancient Roman excavation near Kostolac, Serbia. My company “Hristov Consulting“ planned and implemented all the PR activities for the event.

(People were dressed in Roman Togas)

(Dr. Miomir Korac, organizer of this event)
Emma Shapplin was accompanied by an orchestra conducted by Ognjan Radivojevic and by the RTS choir. The video screen behind Emma showed videos and images that depicted Roman culture and customs. All in all, it was really unforgettable experience.

(Emma was magnificent)

My friend Dragana Ognjenovic, our famous fashion designer, has invited me to the opening of the exhibition “My small table” where children from schools for children with special needs “Stefan Dečanski” and “Sveti Sava” have exhibited their works of art. This incredibly successful program was created by Dragana Ognjenovic and sponsored by Tatjana Tadic, the wife of Serbian President Boris Tadic. These special kind of projects would always have my full support. Amazing contribution, great work …

I was so glad to hear that Novak Stanisic is new director of RTS Musical Production. He is the right person for the job, open to the challenges and much needed change. On June 27th in restaurant “Daka” there was a working lunch for journalists, media editors and associates of Radio Television Serbia Musical Production. I was pleasantly surprised how well was this event organized. On the other hand it was to be expected considering great experience (throughout the World) of Novak Stanisic. I am sure there will be great and interesting things coming to RTS Musical Production.

Wonderful event has happened few days ago. I was asked to recommend a candidate for “Association of Business Women of Serbia” reward “Flower of success for dragon woman 2008”, and my dear friend Tijana Sekulic, director of ATHaus agency, won the award in category “The best model for women employment” – self-employment. The Association of Business Women of Serbia brings together women entrepreneurs, women who want to start up their own business and women in institutions that support the SMEs sector.

In my recommendation for this reward I wrote: ATHaus has served their founders as an experiment, to gain personal experience on how to run their own business and what are the challenges on the way of woman entrepreneurship.
Tijana Sekulic has started her own business, ATHaus agency, one year ago and since than has helped many businesses with there web presence, corporate image, graphic design of brochures and other creative services. In her office in Knjeginje Ljubice 7, Tijana has involved four generation of woman. With her younger sister Aleksandra they have organized their business under the slogan “From logo to web site”. They bring beauty into their clients businesses and help them become more successful and satisfied. Their mother Radmila has unselfishly provided them with office space, while grandmother Jelka cooks for them. Aleksandras daughters Mina and Katarina are often in the office bringing laughter and joy.

On the cover page of Ekonometar magazine No.42, together with my friends from EU Access there was also my picture. The article “Guide to EU funds” was actually interview with my dear friend Bosko Nektarijevic, executive director of EU Access company (my strategic partners from Brussels). The article was on how his consulting firm EU Access was assisting companies in Serbia to gain access to available EU funds.

The article was excellent, and I warmly recommend it. Lets hope for Serbia to continue on its way to European integrations, so we could see not only EU funds increasing in size, but also European values accepted and practiced by Serbian companies. I am sure my friends from EU Access will be one of the main vehicles of Serbian EU integration.

Recently I have attended yearly (general) assembly of NUNS (Independent Journalist Association of Serbia) where we elected new management. New executive committee, supervisory committee, honor court, and new members committee. Election of president Nadezda Gace guaranties NUNS will continue to fight for media professionalism and journalist rights.
This association exists since 1994 and was founded by group of journalist who for political repression of Slobodan Milosevic lost their jobs. Today NUNS has over 3000 members and represents one of main corrective mechanisms (of government and media).
Since foundation, NUNS and its members have functioned under very hard circumstances , especially until year 2000, but have always succeeded to fulfill its mission and be the right place for journalists to get together and realize their rights.
